Our Story

We wanted a hangboard in our dorm.

We’re three climbers heading into college. We wanted somewhere to train, but drilling a hangboard into a dorm wall wasn’t exactly an option.

So we started building one that hangs on the door instead.

Why Frameboard

Why it’s two pieces instead of one.

Adjustable reach

Frameboard is split into two independent sides, so you choose the distance between your hands.

Exchangeable holds

One hold per side. Swap the holds depending on what you want to train instead of having every grip permanently built into one giant board.

No wall mounting

Frameboard hangs from the door, so it doesn’t require permanently drilling a hangboard into the wall.

Hold System

Every board comes with two pairs of holds.

Built in Michigan

From prototype to production.

Frameboard started as something we wanted for ourselves.

We’re currently working from a functional prototype and refining the design for our first production run, using CNC machining alongside hands-on fabrication and finishing in Michigan.

We’re documenting the process as we go.
